Applicants must have been the Practice Educator or PEP’S candidate and have supported a minimum of 3 x social work students at either 70 or 100 day social work placements.
The main responsibility of the Practice Educator is to manage and develop social work students/apprentices within their placements.
We have increased the number of social work programmes within the University of Kent and these now include BA, MA, Step Up and Social Work Degree Apprenticeships.
We are looking for individuals with post qualifying experience practicing as Social Workers or undertaking statutory work, knowledge of relevant legislation and practice guidance in particular the statutory responsibilities and experience of mentoring and supervising the work of others and students.
Most importantly we are looking for people who are hardworking, highly motivated and who really want to make a difference.
We contract with social care and social work agencies, as well as employers on the Social Work Degree Apprenticeship Programme, who provide work-based placements across London, Kent and Medway.
We are looking for Practice Educators who live and can travel within this area.
Practice Educators could have the opportunity to take part in teaching opportunities, act as a critical friend to the university, and assist with student interviews.
This is an excellent opportunity to advance your professional knowledge and standing whilst also contributing directly to your CPD.
You will be paid for your role as a Practice Educator upon the successful completion of the placement and an agreed time worked basis: 70 day placement £840 per student/apprentice, 100 day placement £1200 per student/apprentice (the travelling component is included within these figures).
