Purpose of the Role:
The Synthetic Environment (SE) Technical Architect will provide support through their knowledge and skills in network topologies for on-premise and cloud-based computing. They will also manage site IT Administration for the SE supporting Naval Material for the Royal Canadian Navy, focusing on network infrastructure (primarily Cisco Layer2/Layer3) within a Windows Active Directory environment. Experience with hypervisors such as Microsoft Hyper-V and VMware vSphere is also required. The SE team supports multidisciplinary engineering and technical services related to the River Class Destroyer (RCD) Naval Combat System. This position involves working at the Bluenose building in Dartmouth, NS, and possibly at the Land Based Test Facility (LBTF) in Hartlen Point, NS. The candidate may support other project areas, including ITEA, MBSE, M&S, and Land Based Test Capability activities. This is a full-time, permanent role requiring regular onsite work both in-office and onboard RCN ships.

Key Responsibilities:
* IT Administration: Managing technical resources supporting Naval Combat Systems on the RCD project.
* Verification & Validation (V&V): Executing V&V activities, evaluating test plans and results, ensuring traceability, and identifying risks and anomalies.
* Technical Documentation: Reviewing system requirements, interface control documents, design descriptions, hazard analyses, and installation plans.

Job Knowledge/Education and Qualifications:
* Mandatory: Canadian security clearance, requiring citizenship and 10 years of residence in Canada.
* Mandatory: Engineering technologist diploma or Bachelor's degree in Engineering or Computer Science, or equivalent military experience supporting the Royal Canadian Navy.
* Desirable: 10+ years of relevant experience, familiarity with V&V techniques, and processes.
* Mandatory: Proficiency in English communication skills, including report writing and technical correspondence.
* Desirable: Knowledge of software configuration control, systems engineering lifecycle, requirements management tools, and simulation/analysis tools.
