We are seeking a passionate and dedicated Year 5/6 Teacher to join a supportive and welcoming team at a vibrant school. This is an exciting opportunity for an experienced teacher or an Early Career Teacher (ECT) to teach in Upper Key Stage 2 and play a vital role in preparing pupils for their transition to secondary school.
As a Year 5/6 Teacher, you will be responsible for delivering engaging and challenging lessons that develop pupils’ independence, resilience, and academic progress. You will play a key role in preparing Year 6 pupils for their SATs while ensuring that all children feel supported, motivated, and ready for the next stage of their education. This role begins September 2025.
Duties of Year 5/6 Teacher:
* Planning and delivering high-quality lessons in line with the Key Stage 2 National Curriculum.
* Supporting pupils in developing strong literacy, numeracy, and problem-solving skills.
* Preparing Year 6 pupils for SATs through effective teaching and targeted interventions.
* Encouraging critical thinking, creativity, and independence in learning.
* Assessing, tracking, and reporting on pupil progress and attainment.
* Differentiating lessons to meet the needs of all learners, including SEND and EAL pupils.
* Promoting positive behaviour management strategies in line with school policy.
* Communicating effectively with parents, carers, and colleagues.
* Taking part in staff meetings, CPD opportunities, and school-wide initiatives.
Minimum Requirements:
* Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or equivalent.
* Experience teaching in Upper Key Stage 2, particularly Year 5 or 6 (desirable but not essential for ECTs).
* A strong understanding of end-of-KS2 expectations and SATs preparation.
* A passion for engaging and inspiring young learners.
* Strong classroom management skills and high expectations for behaviour.
* Excellent communication and teamwork skills.
* A commitment to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children.
