Plant Fitter vacancy in Tamworth - Staffordshire (276DM)
Job Summary:
Are you a skilled Plant Fitter looking for a role that offers variety, hands-on training, and the chance to work with diverse machinery?
Join our client's team, where you’ll handle maintenance, servicing, pre-delivery inspections, and repairs on a wide range of equipment.
We're seeking motivated individuals with a background in mechanics—especially those experienced with diesel engines and hydraulic systems—who are eager to contribute to a fast-growing business.
Hours: 52.5 hours per week (plus overtime)
Equipment: Excavators, Telehandlers, Dumpers, Rollers
Responsibilities:
1. Ensure compliance with health and safety regulations at all times.
2. Conduct maintenance, servicing, and repairs on equipment at the depot.
3. Diagnose faults, perform routine services and repairs, and complete pre-delivery inspections.
4. Collaborate with team members to support the company’s growth and success.
5. Communicate parts requirements to the office promptly.
6. Maintain a clean and organized workspace, meeting the "5S" standard, and ensure a safe work environment.
7. Meet and exceed workshop targets for efficiency.
8. Document repairs using an iPad, including photos to support customer charges as necessary.
9. Take on additional duties as needed.
10. Foster positive working relationships with colleagues in the depot and the field.
Requirements:
1. Previous experience in a similar role, such as Engineer, Agricultural Fitter, Mechanic, or Service Technician (NVQ Level 2 minimum or equivalent experience).
2. Knowledge of plant maintenance, fault diagnosis, and repair procedures.
3. Strong problem-solving skills with excellent attention to detail.
4. Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
5. Effective communication and interpersonal skills.
