Role Purpose
The Social Media Manager will be responsible for managing the online presence and brand voice of the food manufacturer across all social media platforms. This role will focus on building brand awareness, engaging with customers, driving traffic to the websites, and supporting overall marketing and sales objectives.
The ideal candidate is a creative and analytical professional who can develop compelling content, manage campaigns, and leverage data insights to optimize social media strategies.
Role Description
Social Media Strategy Development:
* Develop and implement a comprehensive social media strategy that aligns with the company’s brand identity, marketing objectives, and business goals.
* Identify target audiences and create tailored content strategies to engage these audiences across different platforms.
* Primary focus social media channels are: Instagram, Facebook, TikTok, WhatsApp, and LinkedIn. Secondary focus social media channels are: YouTube, X, and our websites.
* Stay up-to-date with industry trends, competitor activities, and emerging social media platforms to ensure the brand remains competitive.
Content Creation and Management:
* Create, curate, and manage high-quality, engaging content (text, images, infographics, videos) for social media platforms, including Facebook, Instagram, TikTok, WhatsApp, LinkedIn, YouTube, X, and our websites.
* Collaborate with the creative and product development teams to produce visually appealing and on-brand content.
* Develop and manage a content calendar to ensure a consistent posting schedule and timely promotions.
Community Engagement and Customer Interaction:
* Monitor social media channels for customer inquiries, comments, and feedback; respond promptly and professionally to maintain a positive brand image.
* Engage with followers, influencers, and brand advocates to build relationships and increase brand loyalty.
* Manage and grow the online community, encouraging user-generated content and brand advocacy.
Campaign Management and Execution:
* Plan, execute, and manage social media advertising campaigns to support brand awareness, product launches, promotions, and other marketing initiatives.
* Track and analyze the performance of campaigns, adjusting strategies and tactics as needed to maximize ROI.
* Collaborate with the sales team to support retail partnerships and promotions through targeted social media activities.
Analytics and Reporting:
* Utilize social media analytics tools to measure and report on the effectiveness of social media campaigns and activities.
* Monitor our Ratings & Reviews on main retailers' websites.
* Provide insights and recommendations based on data analysis to optimize content and campaign performance.
* Monitor key metrics such as engagement rates, follower growth, website traffic, and conversion rates.
Brand Collaboration and Partnership Development:
* Identify and establish partnerships with influencers, bloggers, and other relevant third parties to enhance brand visibility and reach.
* Coordinate collaborations, giveaways, and co-branded content initiatives to expand the brand’s audience.
Management of Freelancers / Agencies:
Support the Senior Designer and Brand teams in managing freelancers and/or agencies.
Crisis Management and Reputation Monitoring:
* Develop and implement social media crisis management protocols to handle negative publicity or brand issues effectively.
* Monitor social media platforms and online reviews for potential reputation risks, addressing them proactively.
Person Specification
Education: Bachelor's degree in marketing, Communications, Journalism, or a related field.
Experience:
* 3+ years of experience in social media management, preferably within the food industry or a fast-moving consumer goods (FMCG) environment.
* Proven track record of managing successful social media campaigns and growing social media communities.
* Strong understanding of social media platforms, algorithms, and best practices.
* Excellent written and verbal communication skills with a creative flair.
* Proficiency in social media management and analytics tools (e.g., Google Analytics, Meta Business Suite).
* Experience with graphic design and video editing tools (e.g., Adobe, Canva).
* Strong analytical skills and the ability to interpret data to make informed decisions.
