About the Opportunity Are you good at spinning plates? It's not something you see very often on TV these days, but figuratively, it is a very useful skill, one of which is vital if your goal is to keep nuclear power stations operating safely, contributing to the UK's Net Zero carbon target, or to help prepare them for decommissioning. The UK's five operating stations deliver 16% of the UK's power, and it takes a large team delivering 100's of projects to enable these stations to continue generating as well as defuel the three stations that have ceased operation - and that's a lot of plates. We are recruiting for an experienced Project Manager to join our Nuclear Power Engineering and Technical Services team supporting our key client EDF Energy Nuclear Generation with their nuclear fleet in the UK. This is a key role within our Project Management Resource team which is spread across our UK network at all UK sites and stations. You will be supported and mentored by experienced project management professionals and given the training and opportunities you need to develop and expand your project management, business development and leadership skills with larger and more complex projects. The role will see you working as part of a large client-led team at Gloucester Business Park, with occasional business travel to other UK sites/stations. Flexible working arrangements between office and home may be possible based on project commitments and deliverables. Key responsibilities will be: - Managing multi-discipline projects throughout the full project lifecycle (gated process) - Responsible for setting the project execution strategy in agreement with the client Project Portfolio Manager - Managing a cross-functional integrated project team - Overseeing the approved budget, scope, change control, risk and opportunities across all designated projects - Monitoring and managing schedule progress and providing key stakeholders with regular updates - Preparation and presentation of monthly progress reports for governance review - Driving the delivery of the projects to ensure safe delivery, on time, and meeting business and technical quality requirements - Accountability to the client Project Portfolio Manager for successful delivery of all aspects of your assigned projects - Degree educated, ideally in a Science, Technology, Engineering or Mathematics field - APM PMQ or equivalent and proficient in the use of project management tools - Demonstrable experience of managing projects throughout the full project lifecycle, ideally across a range of complex multi-discipline projects and environments, and management of an integrated project team - A good understanding and knowledge of engineering project management, design, procurement, safety case, construction and installation/commissioning management - Previous experience of estimating, cost control, planning and commercial awareness including the preparation of business cases and sanction/ funding papers - Strong communication, organisational and team-building skills Our Culture Our values stand on a foundation of safety, integrity, inclusion and diversity.
