My client in the Cardiff area are looking for a Senior Electrical/Electronic Engineer due to expansion.\nABOUT US\nMy client is one of the largest and leading electronic product manufacturers in the world. Focusing on our innovative electronics technology, we strive to provide a wide variety of products, systems, and services in various spaces and areas, such has homes, communities, businesses, and automobiles.\nWHAT YOU WILL BE DOING\nControl the design, development, and evaluation, from concept to mass production for new models, ensuring they comply with the customer requirements and liaising with other areas of R&D to ensure this is fulfilled.\nCritically evaluate design proposals and participate in peer review meetings.
Develop test procedures to validate designs. Study EMC & Signal Integrity issues, identify and eliminate design problems before sample stages.\nEnsure liaison with customers, suppliers, and my clients departments in order that all project stakeholders are fully informed at all times.\nProvide evidence that the relevant customer, my client, regional (e.g. EN) and general product safety directives are considered where appropriate.\nApply technical expertise to investigate, identify, implement, and support countermeasures and improvements to resolve complex issues and coordinate development issues; including evaluation failures and changes in requirements with internal contacts, external suppliers, and customers and other of my clients organisations.\nFully assess and consider historic problems and endeavour to eradicate them from future designs.
Leading and supporting engineers in this activity.\nEnsure development builds are according to agreed schedules. Supporting with components and assembly house queries.\nSupport cost requirements for projects / developments including samples costs, mass production parts, and tooling cost.\nSupport the Project Leader to create and maintain project plans / schedules for electrical / electronic aspects of developments.\nSupport the Project Team to ensure relevant project based AQ and R&D documents (NCL, schedule table, BOMs, etc.) are completed in line with the required processes.\nConsider new technology to improve and implement new R&D systems / processes, ensuring efficient product development and future improvement to product development.\nProvide information for the weekly project update (issued to mt clients management), providing updates on any new or ongoing issues, including appropriate responses and actions being taken.\nProvide necessary information for technical and strategic meetings and attend and contribute to the relevant development meetings, both internal and external.\nMentor and support other members of the R&D department with the technical aspects of their work.\nWHAT WE ARE LOOKING FOR\nDegree level qualification in an Engineering or business based discipline plus 5 years relevant industry experience, or at least 10 years relevant industry experience in a similar role.\nHigh level of experience in Electrical and EMC testing in a design environment and of fault finding to component level.\nHigh level of experience of PCB design tools (Zuken CR5000 preferably) and Circuit simulation tools.\nHighly experienced in designing electronics circuits and taking the design from concept to mass production.\nDealing with sub-contractor assembly houses.\nDesign for EMC / ESD and noisy environments.\nKnowledge and experience of project management processes.\nExperience of soldering and de-soldering (including surface mount components).\nExcellent knowledge and experience of electrical and electronic circuit theory.\nHands on experience of using electrical and electronic test equipment and tools.\nMust be an effective team player with a flexible attitude and good communication skills.\nExperience of leading a team of Engineers / Technicians.\nSelf-starting with good initiative and able to demonstrate a methodical approach to tasks, with a view to developing own ideas and solutions.\nHigh level problem solving skills with the ability to efficiently resolve technical issues.\nKnowledge of my clients Home Appliance products would be desirable.\nThis role will involve some physical manual handling\nMust have a valid driving license.\nMust hold a valid passport and be willing to travel internationally.\nWHAT WE OFFER YOU\nFlexi-time system.\nCompany pension contributions of up to 10%.\nEarly finish on a Friday.\nFree parking on site.\nAnnual leave entitlement of 24 days (+ bank holidays), increasing up to 30 (+ bank holidays) with service.\nDeath in service benefit of 4x annual salary.\nEnhanced pay for maternity, paternity, bereavement, adoption, surrogacy, and sickness.\nFuel card with UK Fuels, providing discounted rates at the pump.\nEmployee Assistance Programme.\nLong Service Awards.\nOn-site canteen.\nExclusive 'Staff Sales' site for my clients products.\nTraining and development opportunities.\n'Refer a Friend' recruitment scheme.\nLocation: Cardiff\nSalary: DOE\nPlease send most up to date CV to be considered.\nKind regards,\nWill Harris| Recruitment Consultant
