Links Recruitment present a great opportunity to join a leading Building Services and Sustainability consultancy based just north of Cardiff who provide expert mechanical, electrical, public health, and sustainability consulting services.
We are seeking an Experienced Mechanical Design Engineer with a background in Building Services to join our team on a part-time basis, at the Cardiff office. The successful candidate will contribute to the design and delivery of mechanical systems across various projects, from feasibility studies to final implementation. You will collaborate with multi-disciplinary teams to develop integrated building services solutions.
The role:
* Design & Drafting: Develop mechanical designs for HVAC, heating, ventilation, and cooling systems using AutoCAD or Revit.
* Feasibility & Conceptual Design: Conduct feasibility studies and present conceptual designs to clients.
* Collaboration: Work closely with electrical, public health, and sustainability engineers to ensure integrated systems.
* Technical Analysis: Perform system calculations for loads, airflows, and sizing to optimize performance.
* Client Interaction: Attend client meetings to discuss design proposals, project updates, and technical issues.
* Quality Assurance & Site Support: Ensure designs meet regulatory standards and provide on-site support during installation.
* Sustainability: Integrate energy-efficient and sustainable solutions into designs.
The Person:
* Building Services, Building Maintenance, and Facility Management (FM) skills
* Mechanical Engineering expertise
* Mechanical Electrical and Plumbing (MEP) knowledge
* Experience in project feasibility and conceptual design
* Strong problem-solving and analytical skills
* Ability to work independently and as part of a team
* Relevant degree in Mechanical Engineering or related field
Salary: £33,000 - £45,000 Pro Rata
Role: Permanent role
