Hours: 9.75 hours per week, 39 weeks per year (term time only)

The Governing Body of The Pear Tree Federation wishes to appoint a part-time temporary HLTA commencing on or as near to 1st January 2025 ending on 31st August 2025. The successful candidate will be awarded a joint federation contract and may be based in either Coryton or Tongwynlais Primary School. In the first instance this post will be based at Tongwynlais Primary School.
The main area of responsibility will be to provide PPA/ leadership cover within the Early Years class.
The successful candidate will:
• work with the Reception class teacher, to be responsible for the Early Years setting including the management of other teaching assistants; the allocation and monitoring of work, appraisal and support/training etc.
• co-plan, prepare, deliver and evaluate learning provision, activities and outcomes for Early Years pupils.
• work under the guidance of teaching/senior staff and within an agreed system of supervision, to carry out whole class, timetabled leadership cover and PPA covering the reception class teacher within agreed staffing levels and risk assessments - This may involve planning, preparing and delivering learning activities for individuals/groups or for whole classes monitoring pupils and assessing, recording and reporting on pupils’ achievements; progress and development.

Under the Education (Wales) Act 2014, all School Learning Support Workers must be registered with the Education Workforce Council (EWC).
