Job Description
Our client, a pioneering maritime design and technology company dedicated to decarbonising the industry, is currently looking to hire a HV Battery Design Engineer (EV). The successful candidate will be responsible for the design and development of in-house propulsion battery systems, including vessel integration.
The HV Battery Design Engineer (EV) will:
1. Design and deliver 800V DC battery pack products on time, ensuring integration with vessel systems.
2. Derive and verify mechanical, electrical, and hardware requirements for battery systems and components.
3. Integrate lithium-ion battery modules and work closely with suppliers to meet integration requirements.
4. Support the implementation of battery system safety concepts and ensure compliance with international standards.
5. Develop innovative busbar and electrical distribution concepts for high-voltage batteries.
6. Author technical documentation (test reports, user manuals) and contribute to DFMEA and FTA for development programs.
The HV Battery Design Engineer (EV) will have:
1. BSc /BEng degree in a relevant engineering discipline (Electrical Engineering, Electronic Engineering, Control Engineering, Automotive Engineering, Aerospace Engineering).
2. 5+ years working in automotive, marine, or industrial sectors within a complex regulatory framework. Experience with Lithium-Ion HV battery system design.
3. Experience with 3D modelling and PLM (CATIA V5, 3DX, PTC Creo).
4. Knowledge of safe working practices, standard and legislative requirements for LV DC Systems (60-1500VDC).
5. High Voltage Battery Design Experience.
6. A positive, can-do attitude - role modelling a positive approach especially through organisational growth and change.
7. Ability to adapt quickly during fast growth and changing situations, and to be flexible as the demands of the role may require.
