Description A day in the life of the Material Control Supervisor is to manage the day-to-day movement and stock control of all materials within the Fluke Norwich facility. Daily work will look like: Facilitating the completion of Inventory Cycle Counts Facilitating the completion of Kanban (Material Control) Audits Investigating to root cause and resolving causes of Inventory cycle count variances and Kanban Non-Conformances Working with the Production Team Leader(s) to provide resources to ensure manufacturing lines are replenished with materials on an hourly/daily basis as required Responsibilities: Responsible for adherence to all processes within assigned area(s), including contributing to the development and implementation of new processes and to the continual improvement of existing processes. Trains/facilitates the training of team members to defined standard process and ensures ongoing adherence to the standard. Responsible for the development of defined team, including but not limited to; Fluke/Fortive supplied training materials, recommendation of external courses, 1:1 coaching/mentoring, cross training across cells. To recommend appropriate career band status changes and/or salary increases for team members. Assure that proper records and reports are established and maintained for the Cell(s) and results achieved Uses the Daily Management process to manage team performance, drive improvement, focus and prioritize production support activities. The Team: You will be leading a team of Material Handlers who are responsible for all movement of materials, triggering of Kanban Cards, Cycle Counting, Material Audits and cell replenishment. Due to expansion of the Norwich facility following new product launches, the number of parts to manage is increasing, so dedicated focus on material control is a known priority for this team. Your peers are a talented team of Production Leaders, Technical Supervisors, Goods In/Shipping and Project Coordination who are dedicated to continue to improve and grow the Norwich site. The team work hard, but also have an excellent relaxed atmosphere where everyone can be themselves and enjoy the work they do Experience: Prior experience of Inventory control and presentation is vital to success in this role. We’re looking for someone who has hands on experience in best practices to ensure accuracy of inventory bookkeeping and organized presentation. Experience using Oracle EBS/Similar Inventory Management systems would be very beneficial, experience with PowerBI to pull Inventory reports and Analyze usage would also be beneficial. The ideal candidate should also have sound leadership and communication skills, with the ability to understand the demands of Manufacturing, communicate these priorities to the team and ensure that resources are aligned. You should be a self driven individual, who is always keen to investigate the unknown in order to find a better way.
