We are currently seeking dedicated and experienced support workers to work within a service situated in Stowmarket. The home, which has been converted to the highest standards, provides residential care to residents with PWS (Prader-Willi Syndrome).
As a support worker, your role will involve supporting individuals with a diagnosis of Prader-Willi Syndrome to live fulfilled and independent lives. Whilst no prior experience of PWS is necessary, a background in Health and Social Care is essential.
As a Support Worker you will:
* Provide high quality support to individuals with a diagnosis of Prader-Willi Syndrome and other associated health needs.
* Support individuals to attend activities and appointments.
* Assist with day to day living tasks such as cooking, cleaning, and laundry.
* Promote safeguarding and an open, honest culture within the home.
* Encourage the individuals we support to live life to their full potential.
* Support individuals with personal care where needed (washing, bathing, etc.).
In response we will:
* Offer you a permanent contract – 39 hours per week with a competitive salary.
* Provide 16.8 days annual leave per year (pro rata).
* Provide full training free of charge, including the Care Certificate to enable you to carry out your role to the best of your potential and ability (pro rata).
* Source any additional training and qualifications relevant to your role (CPD).
* Provide you with a valid DBS and pay for your enrolment in the update service each year you are employed with us.
* Offer an enhanced hourly rate for overtime completed.
Two shift patterns are available. Shift pattern one is 3 x 13 hour shifts (Long Shifts). Shift pattern two is 1 x 13 hour shift and 3.5 x 7 hour per week (Short Shifts), depending on individual preferences.
A full, clean driving licence is preferred but not essential.
Job Types: Full-time, Permanent. The successful candidates will need to be able to work a minimum of 37.5 hours per week.
Salary: £11.50 per hour.
