Role: Intelligence Support Officer
Department: Crime Services
Location: Carbrook, Sheffield
Salary: £27,747 – £30,468
Hours: 37
Contract Type: Temporary for 12 months
We have an exciting opportunity for an Intelligence Support Officer to work within the Intelligence Unit on a temporary basis for 12 months. This role will provide administration support to the Intelligence Unit.
Key Responsibilities
1. Maintain full awareness of Force and District priorities and how Intelligence contributes to their achievement
2. Maintain liaison with key stakeholders both internal and external to the Force in terms of intelligence
3. Liaise with Force Intelligence, outside partner agencies and other District Intelligence staff
4. Develop partnership links for intelligence dissemination
5. Collect and process data using I.T. software
6. Evaluate, Risk Assess and Index National Intelligence Reports according to Force Policy and disseminate to appropriate persons/departments for action
7. Conduct Open and Closed Source Research in accordance with Force policy
8. Create and maintain databases including record management systems
9. Produce bulletins, briefings and information sheets for appropriate dissemination
10. Attend meetings as required, record and allocate any tasks as necessary
11. Contribute towards the gathering of intelligence utilising covert and overt methods.
12. Review data quality and identify duplicate records
13. General administrative duties
14. Supervise the allocation, direction and result of intelligence actions/action packages
Skills And Experience
1. Experience of working with sensitive information, and dealing with and maintaining confidentiality
2. Previous work experience in intelligence/information collection, analysis, research and action
3. Proficient in Microsoft Word, Excel and other packages which enable data manipulation, formulae, charts and functions
4. Excellent communication skills both written and oral
5. Prepared to obtain and thereafter maintain Financial Intelligence Administrator (FIA) accreditation
6. College of Policing Intelligence Professionalisation Programme (IPP) qualification or willingness to complete

Eligibility
Applicants must meet the minimum requirement checkable history criteria, which must be taken into account for individuals applying to work with South Yorkshire Police in any capacity. A minimum checkable history of 5 years is required for this role and successfully undergoing recruitment vetting procedure is a pre-requisite of employment with South Yorkshire Police.
