We are looking to recruit a dedicated and skilled Plain Imaging Radiographer to work within our team across our four Wirral sites. The WUTH family comprises imaging departments at Arrowe Park Hospital, Clatterbridge General Hospital, St Catherine's Health Centre and Victoria Central Hospital.
The Trust has a wide variety of departments including Trauma and Orthopaedics, General Surgery, Women's and Children's, Medicine and Cancer support services.
Within the Plain Imaging department we support CPD, advanced practice with reporting radiographers and the continued training and development of all Radiographers.
We are seeking dynamic individuals who have the ability to successfully engage with a broad range of teams, disciplines and staff. We actively encourage our Band 6 Radiographers to engage with extra responsibilities e.g. RPS, H+S links, Safeguarding, QA.
Successful applicants will be expected to rotate across all four sites and contribute to the 24/7 service delivery rota at APH.
Successful candidates for our Band 6 Senior roles will work and supervise in areas including ED, MSK and Outpatient clinics, GP clinics, Inpatients, Theatres, Dentals and also provide portable imaging service to wards including critical care departments.
Main duties of the job
The post holder will demonstrate excellent organisational skills, must be flexible in approach, able to exercise initiative and demonstrate a consistently high standard of professionalism, being aware of the need for confidentiality and integrity.
The post holder requires a high degree of empathy, understanding, diplomacy, honesty and integrity as well as excellent communication skills and be willing to undertake on-going training and development. In addition, the post holder will be able to signpost clients/participants to the relevant sources of support and information appropriate to their needs.

Qualifications, Specific Experience & Training
Essential criteria
* BSc in diagnostic Radiography or equivalent
* HCPC Registered
* Ability to participate in 24/7 rosters and flexible approach
* Minimum of 18 months experience post qualification as a band 5 or above
* Up to date CPD portfolio
Desirable criteria
* Experience of supporting and teaching junior staff and undergraduate student radiographers
* Experience of taking the lead role and ability to work under pressure
Knowledge and Skills
Essential criteria
* Excellent knowledge and understanding of analogue and digital radiography equipment
* Experience of a full range of general imaging services including theatre, MSK, IP/OP and trauma imaging
* Excellent technical knowledge of radiography and PACS
* Excellent understanding of both the Ionising Radiation (Medical Exposure) Regulations 2017 and the Ionising Radiations Regulations 2017
* Excellent written and verbal communication skills
* Good understanding of audit processes
* Good understanding of team dynamics
* Ability to make decisions and prioritise under pressure
* Understand when to use initiative and when to escalate
* Good IT skills
