Job Description:
Work within a group of Lead Model Technicians in the Model Shop and Wind Tunnel environment, supervising a team of Model Shop Technicians to produce, deliver and test high quality test components and assemblies for Wind Tunnel testing.
What you will be doing:
* Keep on track with the Model Shop workload and meet the targets of the Aerodynamic testing program.
* Supervise a small team to produce and deliver the development projects to the Wind Tunnel.
* Ensure Wind Tunnel project parts/assemblies are manufactured to a high standard and to the required deadlines.
* Build large complex mechanical assemblies for the Wind Tunnel model.
* Deal with technical challenges and diagnose/solve problems.
* Work with the Model Design Engineers to improve the efficiency of Model changes and the quality of Model parts.
* Mentor junior members of the team.
* Support the management of Health and Safety requirements.
Requirements
* Current experience of Wind Tunnel model part preparation, and wind tunnel testing.
* Extensive experience in model-making in a high-level motorsport environment (preferably F1).
* Strong knowledge of mechanical installations and assemblies.
* Experience and knowledge of metrology equipment.
* Possess a high level of accuracy and attention to detail.
* Demonstrate excellent interpersonal and leadership skills.
* Able to perform duties in a timely manner with minimal errors.
* Ability to lead and mentor others effectively.
* Clear and concise communication, verbally and with the use of email.
* Positively contribute to an open and inclusive culture.
* Willingness to travel regularly throughout the year, including at weekends.
