The Pump House Surgery in Earls Colne has an opportunity for an enthusiastic and proactive receptionist/administrator to join our friendly team on a full or part-time basis, hours and days can be flexible. In this essential front-line role at the practice, administrators help patients to access the right services, assist with keeping health records accurate and up-to-date and ensure that appointment bookings are well-managed. The main responsibilities of the role include: Welcoming patients to the surgery. Taking calls and making appointments. Opening, scanning and matching incoming post. Actioning tasks on the clinical system. Keeping the reception area, notice boards and leaflet dispensers tidy. Advising patients of practice procedures. Registering new patients. Accurately maintaining patient database and records, photocopying, filing and scanning. About the Candidate General practice is a challenging environment that requires a calm and caring approach with the ability to work under pressure. The ideal candidate will be a highly motivated team player who has customer service/patient experience, offers excellent communication skills, and has the following attributes: Ability to work in a busy environment. Possess a positive attitude with the ability to demonstrate good team working and excellent standard of patient care. Experience of working with the general public, being sensitive and empathic in distressing situations. Ability to work as part of a team. Strong IT and administration skills, with a high level of accuracy and attention to detail. General practice experience would be beneficial. SystmOne would be advantageous although full training will be given. Some flexibility is required, as you will sometimes need to work additional or alternative hours to cover for colleagues.
