We have an excellent permanent job opportunity for an Addictions Consultant Psychiatrist to work for a hospital based in West Midlands. This is a full-time role, where you will contribute to the service to ensure that service users consistently receive high quality services that adhere to the best guidelines and achieve high professional standards.
The general working hours are 37.5 per week and there are no on-call requirements.
Salary: £136,664 to £147,501
Position: Substance Misuse & Addictions Consultant
Hours: Full time 37.5 hours per week
Setting: Outpatient setting
Location: Coventry & Warwickshire
Responsibilities
1. Good medical care: Provide a clinical assessment, including relevant psychiatric and physical investigation, of a wide range of substance misusers presenting to the service.
2. Review and Monitor: Patients’ treatment progress (including results of urinalysis and other laboratory investigations).
3. Documenting: Keep accurate, appropriate, and up-to-date medical and administrative documentation including computer records.
4. Specialist Assessments: Provide specialist prescribing assessments to opiate, stimulant, tranquilizer, barbiturate, and alcohol dependent clients.
5. Working with others: Attend multidisciplinary meetings, promoting the nomination of named link workers and actively supporting the implementation of integrated care pathways.
6. Represent Change Grow Live: Represent the service at a range of meetings with other professionals and agencies in order to evaluate, monitor and develop treatment services for substance misusers and minimise barriers to treatment.
7. Maintaining good medical practice: Participate in continuing professional development, annual appraisal and revalidation and to join appropriate supervision and PDP groups for the role.

Minimum Requirements
1. Medical Degree and completion of Basic Medical Training.
2. Full GMC-UK Registration with License to Practice.
3. Experience in delivering evidence-based treatments in Substance Misuse.
4. Good knowledge of addiction psychiatry and legislation relating to Mental Health.
5. Demonstrable ability to work independently with minimal consultant supervision.
6. Experience in a multi-disciplinary team setting and with other agencies.
7. Evidence of participation in Clinical Audit.
8. Experience in working with substance misuse and mental health issues.
