We are seeking an efficient and highly organised medical secretary to join our dynamic team at Mill Road surgery, on a part-time basis for 16 hours per week. The successful candidate will play a crucial role in ensuring the smooth operation of our practice, supporting our medical staff, and providing excellent service to our patients. Key responsibilities include: Provide administrative support to doctors and other healthcare professionals. Prepare and manage correspondence, including letters, emails, and reports. Maintain and update patient records, ensuring confidentiality and accuracy. Handle telephone and face-to-face enquiries from patients, healthcare professionals, and external agencies. Process referrals, tasks and incoming emails from patients and third party providers. Assist in the preparation of medical documents. Ensure the practice’s policies and procedures are adhered to, particularly in relation to patient confidentiality and data protection. Coordinate with other staff members to ensure a seamless patient experience. About the Candidate We welcome applications from those with the following skills and experience: Previous experience as a secretary or a role of similar nature. Excellent organisational and time-management skills. Strong IT skills, including proficiency in Microsoft Office, knowledge of SystmOne is also desirable. Exceptional communication skills, both written and verbal. High attention to detail and accuracy. Ability to handle sensitive and confidential information with discretion. Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to work effectively as part of a team. A positive attitude and a commitment to providing excellent patient care.
