As leader of the UK&I Consumer Commercial Team, this position is responsible for setting the strategy and building a high performing team to strengthen relationships with the retailers in order to deliver business goals.
This role is a key advocate of McCormick in the UK&I market and heavily external focused. The individual is responsible for bringing the voice of the customer alive in the business and helping McCormick to adjust its strategies in order to be successful with the UK&I retailers.
This role is a key member of the UK&I Consumer Leadership Team, working cross-functionally in order to set the direction for the business and deliver its short and long term goals.
MAIN RESPONSIBILITIES
1. With Sales management involvement, develops a strategic business plan to include sales, GM, areas of opportunities, and profit objectives. Participates in Pricing Development.
2. Removes barriers for external sales force to accomplish goals and objectives. Maintains relationships at the highest organizational levels within own company and with Customers.
3. Directs project and resources to gain maximum headspace penetration working with McCormick management and client executives.
4. Directs the strategic sales effort to win and maintain business. Accountable for cultivating senior relationships at strategic accounts.
5. Develops and manages direct reports and mentoring of broader talent. Leads MKC teams regularly and informally. Generates ideas and helps lead project teams to solve problems.
CANDIDATE PROFILE
1. Strong FMCG sales experience working with the UK retailers. Track record of building trust and winning relationships with the UK’s biggest retailers.
2. Experience developing people & leading high performing teams.
3. Self starter who can inspire and set the direction, develop high performing teams and be a great team player themselves.
4. Experience of managing >$100M P&L’s, with track record for delivering profitable growth and market share gains.
5. Communication, strategic thinking, relationship building, negotiation skills.
6. Able to build relationships at the highest organizational levels within own company and with strategic customers.
7. Understands key financial drivers and has developed effective systems to monitor accounts and territory.
