Health & Safety / CDM Advisor (House Building) – North Thames Region

At DM Safety & Health Services, we are a nationally recognised, independent Health & Safety Consultancy based in the Northwest. Since 2008, we’ve built a reputation for delivering high-quality HSE services across multiple sectors. Due to continued growth, we are seeking a Health & Safety / CDM Advisor to join our dynamic team and support our FTSE 100 housebuilding client.
This is an exciting opportunity to take a leading role in driving health & safety excellence, working closely with site teams across the North Thames region.
The Role
Reporting to the Construction Services Director, you will provide dedicated HSE support across multiple house-building sites in St Albans, Biggleswade, Hitchin, Bishops Stortford, Hoddesdon, Sawbridgeworth, Berkhamsted, Aylesbury, and Stevenage.
Your key responsibilities will include:
1. Conducting site inspections and support visits
2. Producing comprehensive and professional reports
3. Providing technical and HSE support to site management teams
4. Carrying out targeted monthly checks
5. Attending monthly HSE meetings
6. Supporting the Client Regional HSE Advisor
7. Investigating incidents and accidents
8. Collaborating with site teams to build trust and solid working relationships
9. Delivering in-house training for operatives and management teams
10. Supporting external PC / Client inspections
Essential Experience & Qualifications
UK-based housebuilding experience is vital for this role
Candidates must have:
* Significant experience working in the UK housebuilding industry
* NEBOSH General/Construction Certificate
* Strong IT skills
* UK driving license
* Available immediately
Desirable:
* 5+ years’ experience in a similar role

* Passionate about driving continuous improvement in health & safety
* A strong communicator who can engage with both management and workforce
* Excellent time management and ability to work independently
* A problem-solver who finds practical solutions for on-site challenges
* Willing to travel, with some occasional overnight stays required
