Ensuring income is maximised through the meeting of targets including QOF and IIF and optimisation of Local enhanced Services performance. Ensuring the requirements of the practice contracts with NHSE are fully met and complied with Directly contributing to profit improvement by exploring areas for increasing income and reducing costs. Strategic Planning Keep abreast of current affairs and identify potential opportunities and threats. Together with the group manager, review and update the Practice Development Plan, overseeing the implementation of the aims and objectives that fall within your area of responsibility. Contribute to the management of the organisation risk register; identify, managing and controlling any risks that fall within your area of responsibility. Assist the practice in the wider community and assist with forging links with other local practices and relevant agencies and in particular working collaboratively the Tiverton PCN Formulate objectives and research and develop ideas for future practice development. To represent the practice at PCN, locality and clinical commissioning group meetings as required by the Group Manager To make recommendations to the Group Manager and Partners for practice development with regard to enhancing patient services and potential sources of income Human Resources Overall responsibility for all aspects of HR across the Clare House Surgery including: Recruitment and selection of staff working, including contracts of employment and job descriptions Ensure effective management and Employment Law compliance for any performance, disciplinary and dismissal process that fall within your area of responsibility Be aware of current employment legislation To develop and maintain good employee/employer relationships To ensure that members of the existing staff team are aware of any changes that occur in the practice To maintain good communication at all times with the practice team To oversee rotas which allow good staff cover at all times as well as giving the flexibility required at short notice to cover for illness, etc. To ensure staff are supported to develop and perform within their roles by ensuring structured 1:1 support and ensuring yearly appraisals are held, including the setting of performance objectives and development plans. To ensure staff sickness is managed consistently and in line with the policy for all staff. To oversee the booking of Annual leave for the practice, ensuring this is managed in line with the policy and supports the ongoing smooth running and sustainability of the practice. Information Technology Ensure staff in your area comply with information governance processes Ensure all Practice IT and telephone systems are functioning effectively Ensure the IG and DSP toolkit requirements are met within Clare House Surgery Keep abreast of new technology and ensure existing IT is used to its full potential, contributing to the continuous development of the use of digital technology to enhance patients care within Amicus Patient Services Ensure that the Practice complies with NHS contractual obligations in relation to patient care Maintain registration policies and monitor patient turnover, supporting the planning of recruitment for additional staff resource in line with increasing patient numbers. Actively seek to attract new patient registrations by ensuring the practice maintains a positive online profile and through the identification of other initiatives to support this goal. Oversee effective appointment systems Routinely monitor and assess practice performance against patient access and demand targets. Support the management team to make suggestions for, and plan changes in the light of these reviews. Oversee the response and outcomes for complaints that fall within your area of responsibility Contribute to the learning and significant event processes for your area of responsibility, ensuring they are reviewed and any learning is embedded across the practice Maintain the Patient Participation Group
