Project Co-Ordinator Salary:£31,872 Job Location:Head Office - Belfast Contract:3 years (funded through Dormant Assets Access to Resilience Fund) Disability Action is the largest pan-disability organisation and charity in the UK and Ireland. We are a Disabled persons led organisation (DPO) advocating for the rights of Deaf and Disabled people. We provide services which are developed for and by disabled people. These services include: employment support services, human rights and independent advocacy, campaigns, community integration and digital connectivity, transport, information and advice, mental health and wellbeing and disability specialist support. Disability Action wishes to appoint a Project Co-ordinator for the S.T.R.O.N.G (Sustainable Together Resilient Organised Network for Growth) Project. The S.T.R.O.N.G Programme is a new initiative developed by Disability Action funded by the National Lottery Dormant Assets Access to Resilience Fund to address the challenges faced by Disabled People's Organisations (DPOs) in Northern Ireland. The programme is designed to enhance the capacity, sustainability, and resilience of DPOs by providing tailored support in key areas including governance, financial management, leadership, and collaboration. The S.T.R.O.N.G Project Coordinator will play a critical role in delivering the programmes key objectives, focused on enhancing the capacity and sustainability of Disabled People's Organisations (DPOs) in Northern Ireland. They will oversee all aspects of the project, from managing budgets and timelines to ensuring that training and support services are delivered effectively. This includes working closely with DPOs to provide tailored assistance in governance, financial management, and leadership development, all while ensuring that these organisations are equipped with the tools to become more resilient and sustainable. The role also includes a significant focus on monitoring and evaluation. The postholder will develop and implement diagnostic tools to assess the skills and capabilities of participating organisations, ensuring that the projects impact is measurable and aligned with its objectives The successful candidate will report into the Head of Innovation and Impact. Key Responsibilities The responsibilities for the S.T.R.O.N.G. Co-Ordinator will include: Manage, co-ordinate and deliver the S.T.R.O.N.G Project, ensuring it meets its objectives on time and within budget Develop training materials and guides that can be shared and reused by DPOS post-programme to ensure sustainability Ensure active engagement and ownership of the programme by DPOs, addressing the access needs and barriers they face Build and maintain collaborative relationships with DPOs and other key stakeholders across Northern Ireland Work closely with DPOs to assess their governance, leadership, financial, and operational needs Coordinate and deliver workshops on essential topics such as financial planning, good governance, project management, and strategic planning Provide one-on-one support to DPOs in areas such as financial management, digital skills, and volunteer management Develop and implement a comprehensive evaluation plan that includes baseline surveys, KPIs, and quarterly review sessions Ensure regular reporting on the projects impact, capturing both qualitative and quantitative outcomes Contribute to external evaluations required by the Dormant Assets Access to Resilience Fund Work with the Head of Innovation and Impact to manage project staffing, administrative tasks, and ensure alignment with Disability Actions strategic objectives Ensure training sessions and support services are fully accessible, utilising Disability Actions expertise in accessible formats, transport, and remote services Ensure professionalism and confidentiality at all times, ensuring compliance with GDPR and data protection standards, in all HR processes and communications Any other duties required to fulfil the requirements of the position Travel: Occasional travel across Northern Ireland with expenses covered. Remote work possible. Essential Criteria Essential Skills and Experience At least 2 years experience project management experience of multi-year projects, preferably in the non-profit sector Experience in budgeting and financial planning within a non-profit or similar context Strong understanding of the challenges facing small community-based organisations, particularly in governance, financial management, and leadership Strong understanding of governance, risk and accountability procedures Proven ability to build and maintain collaborative relationships with diverse stakeholders Experience in implementing diagnostic tools and conducting ongoing monitoring and evaluation for continuous improvement Experience of delivering training and support A high level of computer literacy with experience of using Microsoft Office packages.
