Role Summary
Are you a trainee pharmacist looking to register as a pharmacist with the GPhC in the Summer 5? Are you striving to improve patient care and experience, whilst expanding your knowledge within Hospital Pharmacy? We have an exciting opportunity to join our small and friendly team of Pharmacists at North Devon District Hospital in Barnstaple. This post offers structured progression from a Band 6 to Band 7 within approximately 12 months. As this is a development role, there will be many learning opportunities in a top-ranked NHS Trust and teaching hospital providing a full range of acute hospital services to Devon.

As a key member of the Royal Devon University Healthcare NHS Foundation Trust, you will join an exceptional Pharmacy team dedicated to helping patients stay healthy when they need it most.
You will participate in rotations including:
* Acute medicine
* Gastroenterology / respiratory
* Cardiology / care of the elderly
* Stroke
* Surgery and orthopaedics
You will work with multidisciplinary teams such as:
* Medical and surgical teams
* Allied health professionals
* Nutrition team
* Pain team
* Hospice
Your daily duties will include:
* Clinical review of inpatients
* Providing clinical advice to professionals
* Supporting the dispensary (a small part of your day)
As a Pharmacist at North Devon District Hospital, you will deliver high-quality Clinical Pharmacy services across wards, gaining exposure to various specialties. You will be supported in your professional development, including clinical diploma or independent prescribing courses. We have clear pathways to help you progress.
Newly Qualified Pharmacists will start at Band 6, providing a strong foundation in hospital pharmacy. We will support funding for a clinical diploma, and after completing developmental gateways, you will progress to Band 7.
We support your wellbeing through tailored induction, a Pharmacy buddy scheme, Trust-wide health events, and activities.
This role attracts a Recruitment and Retention Premium of £2,000 (pro-rata for part-time) plus an on-call premium of approximately £2,000, paid over 12 months, subject to eligibility.
