Main duties of the job
- To workindependently and in conjunction with the infection prevention and control teamin monitoring compliance against Trust policies.
- Toassist the implementation of putting infection prevention and control theory
- intopractice
- Tosupport, coach and mentor clinical teams, wards and departments in theprinciples of infection prevention and control in particular hand hygiene,donning and doffing of PPE etc.
- Toensure that infection prevention and control documentation is completedappropriately.
- Tosupport other members of the infection prevention and control team withinfection prevention and control advice and formal and informal training
- Toassist the infection prevention and control team with audit data collection,input and analysis.

Job responsibilities
The role of the Nursing Associate/Associate practitioner isto work collaboratively with the multi professional team and the RegisteredNurse to assess, plan, organise and deliver clinical care and education in linewith service and patient needs, as agreed with supervising clinicians
The post holder will provide support to the other members ofthe Infection Prevention and Control Team in monitoring compliance withinfection prevention and control principles, including audit and surveillance,data collection, input and analysis and coaching and support to all levels ofstaff in the clinical areas.
Support the Trusts Audit and Surveillance nurse
The Nursing Associate/Assistant practitioner worksindependently under the leadership of registered nurses
The post holder will act professionally at all times and usetheir knowledge and experience to make evidence based decisions
They recognise and work within the limits of theircompetencies and are responsible and accountable for their actions
They will be expected to actively contribute to qualityassurance processes and service development.
Provide education to members of the multidisciplinary team
Partake in quality improvement projects
Review patients with known infections MRSA positive /risk, accurately document in the patients notes and provide advise to staffproviding care
Promote good practice and be able to challenge behavioursthat go against Trust Policy
Escalate concerns to senior staff
Computer literate competent in the use of excel, word andpowerpoint
Perform audits and collate data collected
