Do you have a passion for content creation, streaming, film, television and esports? We are looking for someone with experience of media production, equipment and processes including cameras, lenses, lighting, sound, AV and networking.
The Creative and Digital department comprises of Art and Design, Media, Performing Arts and Esports with a commercial theatre also on site. There are a wide range of vocational programmes from level 1-3 on offer. The area benefits from a wide range of specialist vocational studios and equipment.
As Technician for the Media and Esports department you will be able to work across a range of areas, supporting staff and students. This will require the preparation of resources and equipment for lessons and where required supporting staff in lessons.
The post holder will be responsible for the maintenance, distribution and storage of consumables, tools and equipment related to the vocational area. They will manage an effective and efficient storage system, maintain specialist tools, equipment and machinery to ensure staff and students have access to working and maintained resources at the right time for delivery and projects. This may include arranging servicing or repair of equipment, cleaning and ordering. Whilst a Digital, Media and/or Esports background is essential, training on individual tasks can be given. A good grasp of Adobe and other related Media software would be an advantage.
You will be responsible for ensuring all equipment is logged in and out and is ready for collection and return at agreed times and ensure that all equipment is fit for use and returned in good working order. Stores must be kept clean and tidy.
You will manage the safe operation of specialist facilities and ensure all resources, facilities and equipment comply with Health and Safety regulation. You will also ensure all specialist areas and facilities are clean and tidy and comply with Health and Safety regulations. You will support in the induction of students.
You will ensure all equipment is maintained and ready for use and be required to undertake essential minor maintenance tasks. Larger maintenance tasks would be completed by external companies.
You will be responsible for updating health and safety documentation and follow health and safety guidance. Training in COSHH will be provided.
You will assist the teaching teams in preparation of equipment, areas and workshops as well as supporting staff and students with the use of such equipment and processes within workshop settings.
