Autism Learning Support Assistant
Area: Solihull
Hours of work: 35 hours p/week (8:30am - 3:30pm)
Start date: ASAP
Monarch Education, part of Affinity Workforce, are looking for a Primary or Secondary Teaching Assistant to work in a SEND school in the Solihull area. The candidate will be supporting learners with Autism Spectrum Condition (ASC), ADHD, and other additional needs. Experience working in a school setting is not essential, just a natural affinity with children and a willingness to learn and adapt.
The Ideal Candidate Will
* Have experience working with young people
* Be highly organised with excellent communication skills
* Have a desire to work with, inspire and support children
* Have good behaviour management skills
* Have experience supporting children or adults with additional needs such as ASC
* Have knowledge of Makaton or sign language (desirable not essential)
Main Responsibilities
* Supporting the class teacher and other teaching assistants in the day-to-day running of the class
* Supporting children during lessons/school activities
* Managing difficult behaviours
* Delivering 1:1 or small group activities
* Collecting evidence of children's work to support their assessment
