Job Introduction
Heritage Portfolio have a fantastic permanent opportunity for an experienced Commercial Finance Assistant to join the Heritage Portfolio Team who are based out of Edinburgh, Scotland.
Our business operates across 11 prestigious locations in Scotland, including the Royal Botanic Garden Edinburgh, Perth & Musselburgh Racecourses, the Signet Library, Dundas Castle, and Mansfield Traquair. As part of this role, you will need to have your own transport and be flexible to travel between these sites as required.

In this role, you’ll drive a rigorous control environment, ensuring financial operations and reporting for Heritage Portfolio Scotland contracts are accurate, timely, and clear. You’ll be the key to turning insights into action, supporting operational teams with data-driven analysis and decisions that shape our success.
You’ll build productive relationships with operational teams, fostering a commercially focused and accountable culture, while helping them own and manage budgets and forecasts. From preparing and reporting monthly trading results to maintaining robust financial controls, your expertise will be critical in keeping costs and revenues aligned to our goals.
As a trusted advisor, you’ll work closely with the Finance Manager and department leads to review results, identify key drivers, and address overspends proactively. This is your chance to combine your finance skills with strategic influence in an environment that values innovation and collaboration.
What you'll do:
* Support on site managers by providing accurate and timely reports on financial information.
* Assist all contracts with controlling costs.
* Ensure compliance with all Sodexo policies, procedures and reporting timetables.
* Provide excellent commercial support to the site operational teams.
* Liaise with onsite teams to ensure all costs are accurately captured in the correct months.
* Review and support operational teams on outstanding payments due from customers

What you bring:
Essential knowledge and skills
* Good Excel and variance analysis skills
* Desirable to have good working knowledge of SAP, Eprophit, Priava or other large similar systems.
* Desirable to have experience of producing management accounts, budgets and forecasts
* Desirable to have knowledge of a retail and cash environment
* Desirable to have knowledge of contract catering.
* Experience of working with internal and external stakeholders
* Good interpersonal skills with the ability to communicate at senior and junior levels
