Infrastructure Network Engineer
Location: London or Winchester
Hybrid: 2 days a week (40%) onsite.
On Call: Participation in an on-call rota, after completion of probation period (1 week in 6)

Whats the role?
As the Network Infrastructure Engineer at LCP, you will be working at the intersection of traditional network infrastructure and cloud network infrastructure. You will support an environment consisting of Meraki Enterprise and Palo Alto Firewalls across multiple sites. You will play a crucial role in LCPs transformation. This position is more than solving technical challenges; its about taking ownership of personal and professional growth, embracing change, and helping to drive transformation.
Key Responsibilities
* Develop, update and create processes and procedures
* Develop, support and continuously improve LCP’s technology infrastructure, spanning multiple physical office and numerous MS Cloud subscriptions
* Maintain LCP’s Teams Telephony Solutions
* Hands-on implementation of WAN solutions and network migration tasks based on physical and cloud platforms
* Hands-on implementation of Wireless Networks
* Design and implement standardised templates and configuration baselines, enabling teams to efficiently self-serve solutions where appropriate
* Maintain and manage access to Console Services
* Proactively drive the automation of manual or repetitive network infrastructure tasks to reduce overheads and standardise practices
* Manage and implement security control measures such as access control lists, DDoS protection, etc.
* Management of Azure, AWS, and Google Cloud Virtual Networks
* Configure and support WAN technologies, including OSPF/IS-IS, BGP, GRE, IPSEC, VPNs, QoS, Multicasting, and both Layer 2 and Layer 3 connectivity
* Perform device upgrades specifically relating to Cisco Meraki Network devices and Palo Alto Firewalls
* Manage and maintain the organisation’s On-Prem and Cloud LAN, WAN, and firewall services, ensuring availability, security, and performance
* Set up and maintain VLANs, switches, and related network infrastructure, including proactive monitoring and maintenance
* Work with InfoSec and the Security Engineers to ensure consistent and robust network and firewall security
* Monitor network performance, identify trends, and provide capacity planning and resource management insights
* Provide network expertise to internal and external projects, engaging with stakeholders as required
* Assist in troubleshooting and resolving network issues, implementing preventative measures to avoid recurrence. Own incidents until resolved.
* Travel to other LCP locations as required to install, upgrade and support the network
* Participate in an on-call rota providing 24/7 support across 365 days of the year for critical and high priority incidents
What skills and experience are we looking for?
* Experience of TCP/IP and Subnetting and knowledge of modern network infrastructure technologies
* First-hand experience of Palo Alto Firewalls, Meraki Enterprise equipment, physical network infrastructure technologies, cloud network infrastructure technologies
* Strong Azure and preferably AWS Skills
* IaC Skills preferably on Terraform and Consul
* OS Skills (Windows Desktop and, Windows Server)
* Automation skills and experience of Cloudflare or similar
* Experience of managing IP based networks, WAN technologies, virtual server technologies, cloud, DHCP/DNS, and SAN/NAS storage technologies
* Ability to define and develop policy and process, taking responsibility for collaborating and supporting other staff in wider governance groups
* Ability to make technical decisions by managing levels of risk and complexity, recommending decisions as and when risk and complexity changes or increases
* Strong planning and organisational skills, including the ability to coordinate several work streams simultaneously, while balancing priorities and quality
* Excellent communication skills with a capacity to present, discuss and explain issues coherently and logically, both in writing and orally
* Ability to balance conflicting and changing demands through prioritisation and pragmatism
