The Senior Energy Officer is responsible for supporting the delivery of the Trust's strategic approach to Energy Management including, but not limited to, environmental legal compliance, Energy Efficiency, sustainable design and construction, carbon strategy, energy efficiency auditing monitoring and evaluation, and promoting corporate sustainability campaigns and staff engagement programmes. S/he will proactively manage and monitor energy consumption throughout the Trust's estate and ensure that the Trust fulfills its statutory & best practice obligations in relation to energy management. S/he will work with energy suppliers and the PFI Partners to identify and drive forward opportunities to reduce carbon emissions and reduce energy consumption and costs.
Main duties of the job
Working as part of MFT's Energy and Sustainability Team, you will play a key role in delivering energy and carbon savings across MFT's largest site at Oxford Road. The post holder will work closely with our PFI partner to deliver energy efficiency projects and identify and act on any energy wastage across the extensive estate.

Person Specification
Education/ Qualifications
* Degree (or equivalent specialist knowledge) in an engineering or environmental discipline.
Experience
* Specialist knowledge - sustainability, energy management and environmental management including strategic awareness, business case preparation and presentations.
* Demonstrable operational and HR experience.
* Membership of a professional body.
* Experience working with PFI contracts.
Skills & Knowledge
* Ability to deal with highly complicated situations and the delivery of challenging corporate objectives.
* Knowledge of relevant British and European legislation and NHS guidance.
* Ability to communicate with clinical, technical and senior managerial staff both inside and outside the organisation regarding a range of technical subject areas.
