Senior MSK Physiotherapy Assistant (Band 3)
An exciting opportunity has arisen to work as a Physiotherapy Assistant in the Outpatient Musculoskeletal Physiotherapy service at Skipton General Hospital/Townhead Surgery Settle. We are looking to recruit a Physiotherapy Assistant who holds a Level 3 qualification related to Health & Social Care.

The successful candidate will work directly with patients/public as well as undertaking electronic booking and housekeeping, and generally helping the department to run well. We are a friendly team of physiotherapists and assistants providing treatment and rehabilitation to patients, dedicated to providing a high standard of personalised care for our patients as well as providing a supportive environment for staff with support and training.

Main duties of the job
The post holder will:
* Manage a caseload delegated by clinicians
* Independently undertake basic assessments and interventions relevant to delegated caseload
* Contribute to the evaluation of programmes and patient's progression making minor alterations in consultation with the physiotherapist.
* Support the physiotherapists with complex cases as required
* Work with team members to ensure the effective functioning of the team
* Work in partnership with patients, carers, the multi-disciplinary team and wider statutory, private and voluntary sector services.
* Participate in activities to improve the local department and MSK physiotherapy service
* Provide support to other team members and students
* Work flexibly according to patient and service need

Person Specification
Qualifications
* Good general level of education including GCSEs /functional skills level 2 in English and Maths
* Relevant Level 3 RQF qualification in healthcare (NVQ III, level 3 apprenticeship, BTEC level III, Health and Science T-Level) (or be willing to work towards this)
* Care certificate (or to be completed within the probationary period)
* 5 GCSE A-C (or equivalent)
* Course relevant to MSK service
Knowledge
* Knowledge of rehabilitation
* Knowledge of the impact illness and disability have on function
* Knowledge of therapy/dietetic interventions
* Knowledge of the roles of other professionals and the principles of partnership working
* Knowledge of relevant clinical assessments and treatments
Experience
* Experience of working in health or social care/Education
* Experience of working with people with a range of health needs
* Experienced in use of IT applications
* Experience of carrying out therapeutic interventions
* Recent experience of working in therapy/dietetic services
Other
* Ability to travel to any of the MSK service localities
* Current UK Driving Licence
* Access to own transport
