The Role As a Graduate Town Planner, you will play a key role in delivering planning projects for a range of clients, from local authorities to private developers. This role will allow you to develop a broad understanding of the planning process, including site assessments, planning applications, policy writing, and liaising with stakeholders.
You will be involved in a variety of projects, including residential, mixed-use, and commercial developments, and have the chance to work alongside experienced planners who will guide you through the early stages of your career.
Responsibilities:Assist in the preparation and submission of planning applicationsConduct site appraisals and provide planning advice to clientsResearch and analyse planning policy and regulationsPrepare planning reports, presentations, and documents for clients and stakeholdersLiaise with local authorities, developers, and other external partnersContribute to team meetings and collaborate on planning strategies
Skills and Experience Required:A relevant degree in Town Planning or a related disciplineStrong understanding of UK planning policy and regulationsExcellent communication skills, both written and verbalAbility to work independently and as part of a teamProficient in Microsoft Office and planning softwareStrong analytical and problem-solving skills
Desirable:Some experience or internship within the planning sectorKnowledge of GIS software
