This new position will add additional capacity to the team of Regional Handicapping and Course Rating Managers (3 in total), whose role is to manage the regional delivery of this essential area of work. Handicapping and Course Rating are fundamental to our sport and form the backbone of the game.
You will organise and deliver education in the south region on the World Handicapping System (WHS) Rules of Handicapping and Course Rating. You will work closely and support the regional Handicap and Course Rating advisors and county workforce (paid and voluntary) to ensure there is consistent delivery across the region and in line with the national delivery of Handicapping and Course Rating. You will work across the organisation supporting a range of stakeholders, answering enquiries as required.
The successful candidate must be able to demonstrate:
A good understanding and knowledge of the World Handicapping System (WHS), golf and of the USGA Course Rating system.
Ability to develop and deliver education sessions.
Excellent team working skills with the ability to work collaboratively and cooperatively.
Experience within the golf industry.
It would be desirable if the successful applicant is Rules of Golf qualified to Level 2 or above, however, training will be provided.
The post is full-time (Monday – Friday 9.00am to 5.00pm core hours) however, you will need to be prepared to travel and work evenings and weekends on occasion as necessary.
