Oakfield House is a service that provides a housing solution for people where they can practice and gain independent living skills to improve their opportunity to sustain a tenancy in the near future. The team at Oakfield House will work positively and proactively with clients to change their lives by helping them to establish accommodation back within the community. Oakfield House consists of 5 individual accommodation spaces and communal areas where the team can carry out workshops and activities that teach new skills or develop existing ones. Our motivation is to ensure we equip these individuals with the knowledge and tools they need to live independently. This is a challenging role and you will be faced with complex behaviours and needs, including alcohol misuse, mental health, substance misuse and offending behaviour. You will work with a range of different personalities and behaviours so you will need to be able to adapt your approach to engage with a diverse cliental. Your day will consist of: Engaging and interacting with our service users Writing and following a support plan with the individual you are supporting Delivering workshops relating to tenancy management and health and wellbeing Liaising with external agencies Addressing any additional needs, the people we support might have Who we are looking for: Please demonstrate in your application form how you: Have knowledge of housing related support and benefit systems Have knowledge of mental health & substance misuse Have good organisation, IT and record keeping skills Can work part of a team and on an individual basis Deal with difficult situations Have good listening skills For this position, it is essential that the successful candidate has a driver's license and access to a car.
