Pharmacy Production Technician – Pre and In-Process Checker
We are seeking applications from Registered Pharmacy Technicians or Registered Science Technician with experience of working in Pharmacy Technical Services.
We have an exciting opportunity for a motivated and ambitious individual to work with our team of accredited checkers within Swansea Bay UHB Pharmacy Aseptics based at Singleton Hospital.

Our licensed aseptic unit in Singleton Hospital delivers a high-quality service to our Health Board patients and provide a wide range of injectable medicines in a ready to use form including Systemic Anti-Cancer Therapies (SACT), CIVAS and clinical trials medicines.
Singleton Hospital is a Cancer Centre providing services to the population of South West Wales. SWWCC includes a Radiotherapy Department, Oncology and Haematology chemotherapy day units and a dedicated Oncology/Haematology ward.
Singleton Hospital looks out over the sweep of Swansea Bay, 5 minutes' walk from the beach and within 15 minutes' drive to the award winning coast of the Gower peninsula, the UK's first area of outstanding natural beauty.
Main duties of the job
The successful candidate will join our team of accredited checking Pharmacy Production Technicians undertaking pre- and in-process checking activities in the aseptic suite.
The post will also be responsible for the day-to-day supervision, coordination and training of aseptic staff, as well as aseptic dispensing activities and tasks involved with running the Cleanrooms.
The ability to speak Welsh is desirable for this post; English and/or Welsh speakers are equally welcome to apply.

Person Specification
Qualifications & Knowledge
* Knowledge of pharmaceutical technical procedures acquired through training NVQ 3 and BTEC or equivalent in pharmaceutical science plus additional knowledge in Technical Services.
* Appropriate Professional Registration, e.g. Pharmacy Registered Pharmacy Technician, Registered Science Technician.
* Training in Technical/Aseptic Services e.g. TSET, APDM.
Experience
* Significant experience of working in a hospital pharmacy department with experience in Technical Services.
Aptitude and Abilities
* Manage the day to day provision of pharmacy service and supervise staff within area.
* Work independently with full range of local pharmacy codes and procedures.
* Demonstrate good verbal/written communication and problem solving skills.
