We are recruiting on behalf of a further education setting in Carlisle.
We require a confident and motivated Assessment Co-ordinator to work with construction students. This is an ongoing role - varied and interesting!
Assessment Co-ordinator Responsibilities
1. Providing excellent customer service to both the apprentice and employer and dealing with any queries in a timely manner.
2. Managing and supporting a cohort of apprentices across multiple curriculum areas to achieve their apprenticeship within planned timescales.
3. Contacting apprentices and employers on a four weekly basis to assess progress and provide support where necessary.
4. Actively support, mentor, and motivate learners across the learner journey to help them with the timely completion of their learning aims and qualification.
5. Co-ordinating the delivery of programmes within the curriculum areas ensuring the successful retention, achievement, and progression of all learners.
6. Responsible for ensuring the administration and data monitoring activities for apprenticeships within the curriculum areas are completed timely and accurately.
7. Formally reviewing the apprentices' progress and portfolio every eight weeks at a face-to-face meeting with the apprentice and their line manager, ensuring documented evidence of meeting and actions agreed and recorded on the learner.
8. Keeping accurate attendance records and emailing learner and line manager.
9. Complying with all internal policies and procedures and using appropriate online systems as required.
10. Maintaining apprentice records as per national guidelines - ensuring always updated and compliant.
11. Managing the learner undertaking functional skills as required and tracking progress and achievement.
12. Monitoring attendance of apprentices at college, including attendance at Functional Skills sessions, and ensuring the absence reporting procedure is followed and information logged on college systems, including employer notifications.
13. Assisting with recruitment, enrolment, and induction of programmes.
14. Maintaining effective relationships between academic and support staff and providing a communication link between employers and department managers.
15. Undertaking Health & Safety checks in the workplace and maintaining records.
Hours are 8.30-4.30 (to be confirmed) Monday to Friday.
Requirements
* Preferably a construction background, ideally in joinery, but any instruction discipline would be fine.
* Experience in a similar role.
* Great people skills.
* An enhanced DBS on the update service or the willingness to apply for a certificate ASAP.
* A fully checkable work history.
* Immediate availability.
