Long Stratton Medical Practice based in Tharston, has an opportunity for an enthusiastic and proactive receptionist to join our team on a part-time basis. Based in our Swan Lane surgery, the role will be for 24 hours per week based across 4 days, (6 hours per day), but there is a need for some flexibility. The main responsibilities of the role include: Provide an efficient, caring and understanding reception service to our patients and any other visitors to the practice. Deal with all general enquiries, explain procedures and make new and follow-up appointments. Ensure that patients with no prior appointment but who need urgent consultation are seen in a logical and non-disruptive manner. Explain practice arrangements and formal requirements to new patients and those seeking temporary cover and ensure procedures are completed. Ensure that all new patients are registered onto the computer system promptly and accurately, alongside our digital automated registration portal. Receive and make telephone calls as required. Send via task messages requests for home visits, ensuring careful recording of all relevant details and following the surgery visit protocol. Managing the practice email inbox, to include responding, and the re-direction appropriately and accordingly Enter patient information on to the computer as required. About the Candidate The ideal candidate will be a highly motivated team player who has customer service/patient experience, offers excellent communication skills, and has the following attributes: Good standard of education. Previous office experience. Excellent communication (written or oral), interpersonal and telephone skills. Time management. Able to prioritise own workload. IT literate. Customer care skills.
