We are looking to appoint a dynamic person for this post who along with other existing 8 Urologists, will provide a compensative elective and emergency urological service for patients from South Yorkshire and North Nottinghamshire.
Serving a population of more than 420,000, and with three hospital locations, as well as community provision across the area, you'll enjoy all the advantages of working in a major Foundation Trust, but in a friendly and supportive environment where you'll be encouraged to make a strong professional impact.
The post holder will provide services on more than one site. The appointed consultant is expected to provide a general urology service along with the opportunity to develop a sub-speciality interest depending on departmental needs and candidate's sub-speciality interest. An interest in day case surgery and transperineal prostate biopsy would be advantageous.
The successful applicant will be expected to contribute to the delivery and development of Urology services across all Trust sites, working with 8 other consultant colleagues to deliver high quality care. The consultants are supported by 6 Urology specific Speciality Doctors/ Specialist Registrars in addition to ward-based resident doctors and 2 Urology ANP's at DRI.
The department is actively involved in teaching and training of junior medical staff and health care professionals and is active in clinical research. There are regular seminars and clinical governance meetings. Prospective cross cover will be provided for consultant colleague absence, which would include regular ward rounds.
Secretarial support is provided at Bassetlaw Hospital, Montagu Hospital and Doncaster Royal Infirmary.
