A Day in the Life at Hazel as Chef de Cuisine Reporting to the Executive Head Chef, you will be the second-in-command in the kitchen, playing a crucial leadership role inwing duties: Oversee the daily kitchen operations, ensuring exceptional food quality, presentation, and consistency. Act as a right-hand to the Executive Head Chef, supporting strategic planning, kitchen organisation, and menu innovation. Lead, inspire, and develop the kitchen team, setting high standards and fostering a culture of excellence. Take ownership of team management, including scheduling, training, and mentoring junior chefs to enhance their skills and career progression. Uphold and enforce outstanding food safety, hygiene, and cleanliness standards, ensuring full compliance with regulations. Manage stock levels, assist with control food costs, and implement efficient ordering processes to minimise waste and maximise profitability. Ensure seamless communication and collaboration with the front-of-house team to deliver a smooth and outstanding dining experience. Take charge in the absence of the Executive Head Chef, making key decisions and ensuring the continued success of kitchen operations. What We Need from You To succeed in the role of Chef de Cuisine, you will need the following qualities and skills: Proven experience as a Sous Chef or Chef de Cuisine in a high-quality kitchen environment. Strong leadership skills, with the ability to inspire and motivate a team. Excellent culinary knowledge and a passion for delivering high-quality dishes. A thorough understanding of stock control, food cost management, and kitchen operations. A positive, can-do attitude with strong problem-solving skills. The ability to remain calm under pressure in a fast-paced environment. A commitment to maintaining high food hygiene and safety standards Flexibility to oversee all kitchen sections as required.
