Working 37.5 hours a week. You will work 8 hour shifts between 6am - 8pm from Monday to Sunday. Due to this, the shifts work on a rota system so they will vary week on week.
Any weekend shifts will be deemed unsociable hours and there will be an increase in the hourly rate should you work them.

What you'll be doing
As a Receptionist at Practice Plus Group Shepton Mallet, you will provide a comprehensive receptionist service to the unit ensuring that all patients are treated in a professional and courteous manner, endorsing the patient-centred approach of the team. Above all, you have a natural ability to help make the lives of others more fulfilling and want to work in an environment where the work can be hard, but also fun and rewarding.
Providing an efficient and effective reception service to patients, staff, and visitors. To meet and greet all arrivals in a professional and customer/patient centred approach in line with the customer service standards of Practice Plus Group.
You will answer telephone calls from patients, GP surgeries, and other hospital staff on all aspects relating to booking appointments. To distribute calls and messages, using a PBX/switchboard.
You will also provide advice in all matters relating to patients’ appointments, both by telephone and face to face.
You will process and manage referrals in order to meet the requirements of Practice Plus Group performance objectives.
Booking outpatient sessions within strict booking guidelines adhering to breach dates and ensuring optimal utilisation of clinic lists.
You will also be responsible for booking patient transport as requested, to call taxis for patients or visitors, and occasionally arrange return transport for visiting Consultants.
What we’ll look for in you
You will be experienced in dealing with the public, both in person and over the phone, with excellent communication and interpersonal skills as well as the ability to manage difficult situations in a calm manner.
Your previous experience of working in a reception role in a healthcare or service sector will be invaluable, but just as important is your ability to work as part of a multidisciplinary team, work flexibly, and prioritise your own workload when under pressure.
You will have:

* The ability to stay calm in difficult circumstances.
* Comfortable working using your initiative, following instructions, and prioritising a busy workload.
* Strong communication skills (Written and Phone).
* Substantial reception experience in Healthcare or service sector.
