As a Cover Supervisor, you will be vital in ensuring the seamless continuation of lessons when teaching staff are absent. Maintaining Discipline: Ensure that students follow school behaviour policies and manage any disruptive behaviour in the classroom. Supporting Student Learning: Provide guidance and assistance with completing set tasks, ensuring students understand the work but not teaching new content. Monitoring Engagement and Progress: Keep track of students' engagement with the lesson, ensuring they are completing tasks and addressing any difficulties. Reporting and Feedback: Provide feedback to the absent teacher regarding student behaviour, task completion, and any incidents or concerns. Safeguarding and Pastoral Support: Ensure student safety and well-being, following safeguarding procedures, and offering support where needed. Maintaining Classroom Order: Set up and tidy the classroom, ensuring it is well-organized and ready for the next session. Adhering to School Policies: Follow all relevant school policies, including health and safety, attendance recording, and safeguarding guidelines.
