Main duties of the job
* Provide specialist physiotherapy assessment and treatment to patients with a variety of conditions.
* Develop and implement effective, evidence-based treatment plans to optimise patient outcomes.
* Take a lead role in clinical practice initiatives, influencing service improvements and best practice.
* Support and mentor junior staff, physiotherapy assistants, and students, contributing to their professional development.
* Participate in research, audits, and service improvement initiatives to ensure high standards of care.
* Communicate effectively with patients, carers, and members of the multidisciplinary team, ensuring holistic and patient-centred care.
* Maintain accurate and up-to-date clinical records in accordance with Trust and professional guidelines.

* Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal.
* Competency in IT and clinical documentation systems.
* Ability to work under pressure and adapt to changing priorities.
* Experience in supervising and mentoring junior staff and students.
* Previous experience in a Band 6 role.
* Experience in service development and participation in research or audits.
* Knowledge of South Tyneside and Sunderland NHS Foundation Trust and its strategic objectives.
* Full UK driving licence (for community-based roles).
