Due to continued growth, we are seeking a skilled and experienced Construction Quantity Surveyor to join our team. Based at our Gusto Group Head Office in Collingham, Newark, reporting to the Construction Operations Manager, this role requires a professional who is proficient in managing costs, contracts, and financial controls for both commercial and residential construction projects. The Quantity Surveyor will work closely with managers, contractors, and clients to ensure the financial and contractual aspects of projects are managed effectively, from inception through to completion. Conduct regular site visits to assess work progress and compile valuation and cost control, arrange and attend meetings for Client’s contractors and Teams within Gusto Construction.
Qualifications
* Degree level qualified in Quantity Surveying, Construction Management, or a related field
* Membership or accreditation with RICS (Royal Institution of Chartered Surveyors) or CIOB (Chartered Institute of Building)
* Project Management training

* Proficiency in cost management software and tools (e.g MS Excel).
* Strong understanding of construction contracts, building regulations, and cost control principles.

Key Roles and Responsibilities
* Project Cost Management: Prepare detailed cost estimates, budgets, and project financial forecasts. Manage project costs, ensuring that projects remain within budget.
* Procurement and Contracts: Negotiate and secure subcontractor and supplier agreements. Manage tendering processes and evaluate bids, ensuring compliance with project specifications and budget.
* Financial Control and Reporting: Track and report project costs, cash flows, and budget variances. Provide regular updates on financial performance, highlighting potential risks and proposing corrective actions.
* Valuation and Payment Processing: Conduct regular valuations of work completed, including calculating and processing payments to contractors and suppliers.
* Cost Optimization: Identify opportunities for cost savings without compromising on quality or safety. Evaluate and propose value engineering options where applicable.
* Project Documentation: Prepare and maintain accurate project documentation, including cost analysis, progress reports, final accounts, and records for audit purposes.
* Risk Management: Identify, assess, and mitigate financial and contractual risks associated with projects.
* Client Liaison: Act as the point of contact for clients on cost and contract-related matters, ensuring clear communication and effective relationship management.

Package Details:
* Salary from £45k per annum depending on experience. Paid monthly on the last working day of each month.
* You will be contracted to work 37.5 hours per week, Monday to Friday.
* 25 days annual leave per year plus bank holidays. This increases by 1 day after 2 full years completed service, then another day after 4 years and another day after 6 years service – up to a maximum of 28 days plus bank holidays. Days are deducted annually from leave for a full business closure at Christmas.
* Pension contribution is 4% employee and 3% employer.
