Job Summary A prestigious prep school in Bexley is seeking a passionate and skilled Learning Support Assistant (LSA) to support students with additional educational needs. Full-time, term-time position starting January Support students with SEN in a high-achieving prep school Access to excellent training and professional development Responsibilities and Duties Provide one-on-one and small group support to students with SEN, ensuring their academic and social needs are met. Work closely with class teachers to adapt lesson plans and deliver differentiated learning activities. Assist in implementing Individual Education Plans (IEPs) and monitor student progress. Use creative and engaging methods to help students overcome barriers to learning. Support students in developing confidence, independence, and positive relationships with their peers. Collaborate with the SENCo, teaching staff, and parents to ensure a consistent and effective approach to student support. Contribute to a warm and inclusive school environment by promoting the school’s values and ethos. Maintain accurate records of student progress and provide feedback to relevant stakeholders. Qualifications and Skills Previous experience as an LSA or in a similar SEN support role, ideally in a prep or primary school setting. A strong understanding of SEN strategies and best practices, particularly for conditions such as autism, ADHD, and dyslexia. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to build positive relationships with students, colleagues, and parents. A patient, empathetic, and proactive approach to supporting young learners. Strong organizational skills and the ability to work collaboratively as part of a team. Relevant qualifications in education or SEN support are advantageous but not essential.
