Number of days per week: 5Main Base: Hemel HempsteadEmployer: Soar BeyondReporting to: Chief Operating OfficerPurpose: The Head of Services is an instrumental role to drive the effective delivery, growth and strategic development of Soar Beyond’s pioneering clinically and technologically driven programmes to a cross-section of clientele including NHS, Local Health Authorities and Pharmaceutical Industry. This role has been introduced to alleviate the current directors from the day-to-day operational management so they can lead, innovate and grow the business in their strategic board-level roles. You will work closely to support and be in a position to influence Board members to ensure you can deliver operational excellence across the business service lines.
Importantly, you will also be client-facing and leading our transformation and change programmes in your own key accounts keeping you aligned and connected to client and market needs. Accountable to the Chief Operating Officer, you will have a passion for transforming healthcare delivery, a desire to grow and help others to develop to their full potential and be ready to thrive in a fast-paced organisation at the cutting-edge of innovation. This role will be ideally suited to a senior pharmacist or healthcare leader who has held a leadership post for more than 5 years and has been involved in complex clinical service delivery.
Main Responsibilities and Accountabilities:The Head of Services will be accountable for ensuring we have a high-performing team delivering operational excellence to meet our commercial goals. In doing so, you will lead programmes and accounts of your own across our service range and be responsible for growing, shaping and synthesising these services. You will oversee a team which currently comprises circa 20 people (& growing) including senior Principal Consultant Pharmacists leading our programmes and a delivery team of senior project managers, clinical pharmacist writers and trainers and an administrative, project and digital support team.
Execution and delivery of projects may include the following:i2i e-learning programmes- digital programmes and events targeted for our membership of 4,000+GP Clinical PharmacistsService and clinical pathway transformation programmes underpinned by our structured 4D methodology
Digital programme deployment of our SMART workforce transformation programmes to the NHS and Pharma Market Access consultancy services to the Pharmaceutical Industry and to the NHSPharmaceutical Needs Assessments- commissioned by local authorities to ensure pharmacy provision meets local population-health needs.Accountabilities:Leading, managing and motivating the team to deliver operational excellence across the division
Shaping and delivering KPIs for external delivery and internal business priorities
Streamlining the effectiveness of processes, systems and teams to improve service delivery; to high standard, to time and to budget
Managing the profit and losses for the service lines
Overall programme management and account management to a cross-section of NHS, local authorities and Industry stakeholders
Developing and presenting business cases to the Board to future-proof and meet our business ambitions
Understand and implement performance management strategies Ensuring products and services are relevant to the needs of the market based on customer feedback, policy direction and market trends Developing goals and initiatives to drive behaviours that align to company values Hands on delivery may include: o Facilitating and leading NHS/Industry training/advisory sessions o Running change management sessions following 4D methodologies o Overall programme accountability o Providing input to direct teams for the creation and delivery of materials for sales, marketing, proposals, and pitches etc
Presenting and attending at national conferences and exhibitions as an ambassador for Soar BeyondPerson SpecificationEssential:Minimum 10 years working experience of which 5 years are at a senior leadership / director level
Pharmacy or medicines related experience
Excellent interpersonal skills – able to influence to meet desired outcomes
Healthcare sector experience of service development, management and mobilisation / change management at programme levelNHS system-level understanding of interface working - including commissioning or working in primary/ secondary care
Delivering KPIs and metrics and reporting these at senior/ board-level
Commercial experience of working in or with the private sector/ pharmaceutical industry
Experience of leading and managing cross-functional teams
Experience of writing business cases, clinical reports, bids and proposals
