About the Role: Sapphire Utility Solutions are seeking a Reactive Supervisor to oversee site operations, directing and organising site activities to ensure that work is delivered safely and on time. As a Reactive Supervisor there will be monitoring performance that meets recognised standards of productivity, quality and compliance with essential health and safety provisions. The role is based between two locations, our depot in Bamber Bridge and on site in Samlesbury. Location: Bamber Bridge and Samlesbury, Lancashire Hours: 50 hours per week, 06.30am-16:30pm, Monday to Friday Salary: £14.86 per hour (equivalent annual salary £38,636) Responsibilities – but not limited to: Lead and motivate a team to deliver all aspects of planning and operations. Deliver works safely and on time, whilst adhering to requirements. Produce Rota’s for the operatives under their management. Conduct detailed and thorough site visits. Maintain accurate records of site resources, materials and plant and providing daily resource sheets. Managing subcontract performance. Perform on call duties in accordance with the on-call rota. Ensuring all Operatives have appropriate vehicles, equipment, stores, and skills to perform allocated work. Liaise with customers, clients, local authorities and other interested third parties regarding past, present, and future works. To provide sufficient and timely supervision, assessments and coaching to ensure gangs are performing to our sufficient company standards. Perform quality on site assessments checks (x8 Audits per month) Regularly undertake all necessary and appropriate Toolbox Talks, Briefings, and other communications. To perform weekly fleet and plant checks ensuring fleet, plant and equipment maintenance is carried out and calibrated within the correct timescales. Oversea site setups of over pumping and Tankering locations in accordance with the company’s safe systems of work. Sites are to be maintain until completion, ensuring all equipment is off hired and sales are captured throughout the life of the works. Maintain own levels of skills and knowledge to do the job effectively. Comply with relevant company HSEQ and welfare policy provisions. Ensure all clients set KPI’s are met or exceeded. Ensure all operative Training records and ID Cards records are kept up to date. Manage all day-to-day HR queries ensuring all updates are added to the HR system, and all HR processes and procedures are followed. Ensure all Timesheets are submitted within the timescales set by payroll. And these are checked and correct at the time of submission. Where necessary Telematics checks are carried out to verify timesheet submission. Submit accurate records into the sales sheet for works completed each day, ensuring all information is correct, accurate and within budget. Ensuring all operatives driving company vehicles adhere to company policy, where necessary interventions to be carried out to coach or take disciplinary action against offenders that is relevant to the offence committed. To manage and assess the competencies of all operatives on site through the competency assessment program. Experience and qualifications required for the role: Able to drive and have a full current, valid driving licence with no more than 6 points. NVQ Management level 3 or equivalent in experience. Ability to manage a budget. Ability to lead and motivate people. Computer Literate. Must have commercial awareness and understand basic business finance e.g., Capital revenue expenditure, cash-flow, overheads, etc. Must be able to communicate professionally and effectively, particularly to external parties such as the client, their customers, and local authorities. Must have the skills and confidence to supervise and coordinate site requirements and tasks. Proven experience in leading a delivery team. Proven experience in managing high output, plain line and/or S&C Constructions sites. Experienced engineering supervisors. Possess a clear focus on high quality and control of costs. A desire to solve problems, resolve conflict, arbitrate, and negotiate and make sound judgements and decisions. A natural ability to coach, manage and lead people. Safety Management training Understanding health and safety legislation. In depth knowledge of street works regulations. Hold recognised supervisory or leadership in management course or equivalent in experience. IOSH managing safely.
