We are seeking an enthusiastic and passionate Nurse Associate to fulfil an integral role within the wound care service within Barrow Together PCN.
The working hours will be predominantly out of hours, evenings and weekends. As this specialised service develops, there may be the scope to expand to other services.
Main Duties of the Job
* To undertake all duties in line with the training and instruction provided by the Practice Nurse and General Practitioners.
* Undertake simple dressing procedures, complex dressings, and compression following practice guidelines and using aseptic technique.
* Undertake doppler assessment, subject to training, knowledge, and experience.
* Ensure adequate stock levels in stock room specific to wound care.
* Ensure adequate infection control procedures in treatment room.
* Maintain accurate patient records.
* Ensure accurate completion of all necessary documentation associated with patient health care.
* Have the ability to understand when to seek advice and refer patients to other health professionals.
* To continue with professional development.
* Participate in meetings as required within the practice and the PCN.
* Have the ability to manage workload independently.
* Work closely with all members of the team across all the practices within the PCN.
Training and Education
* Participation in an annual individual performance review, including taking responsibility for maintaining a record of own personal and/or professional development.
* Taking responsibility for own development, learning, and performance, and demonstrating skills and activities to others who are undertaking similar work.

Person Specification
Knowledge and Skills Essential
* Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
* Ability to manage own case/workload.
* IT Skills.
* Time Management and the ability to work to deadlines.
* Ability to problem solve.
Qualifications Essential
* Registered Nursing Associate on the NMC register.
* Nursing Associate Foundation Degree qualification level 5.
Experience Essential
* Portfolio of learning in relation to knowledge and experience acquired whilst completing Nursing Associate course.
* Wound care qualification.
Desirable
* Minimum of one year's experience post qualification.
* Experience of working within Primary care.
* Qualification in Doppler measurements.
