£95 - £105 per day, term time only
Long Term Futures is seeking a dedicated SEN Teaching Assistant to work with children in EYFS and Key Stage 1 with a range of Special Educational Needs (SEN), including Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD). This role is based at an inclusive primary school in Lambeth (SE17) that prides itself on creating a nurturing environment tailored to the individual needs of its pupils. Starting in January 2025, this position offers a rewarding opportunity to support young learners in their critical early developmental stages.
Your Responsibilities:
* Provide tailored 1:1 and small group support to children with SEN, ensuring they engage effectively with the curriculum across KS1 and EYFS.
* Work closely with students with ASD, employing strategies to encourage communication, engagement, and independence
* Collaborate with the class teacher and SENCo to implement and adapt individualised learning plans
* Create a safe, inclusive, and stimulating environment that fosters growth and confidence
* Monitor and document student progress, contributing to regular reviews and strategy updates
* Assist with personal care and sensory needs where required, ensuring the well-being of all students
Ideal candidate will have:
* Experience working in SEN schools or supporting children with additional needs in an EYFS or KS1 setting
* A patient, proactive, and compassionate approach to working with children with ASD and other SEN
* Knowledge of SEN-specific strategies, including visual aids, sensory interventions, and communication tools
* Strong collaboration and communication skills, with the ability to work effectively as part of a team
