Farm Manager
Farm Manager (Berry) - Guildford - £60,000 DOE + Accommodation
The Job:
1. Manage all aspects of farm operations, including planting, cultivation, irrigation, and harvesting of berry crops.
2. Lead and supervise a dedicated team of 10 staff, providing direction, training, and motivation to ensure efficient and effective production.
3. Oversee crop care, pest and disease management, ensuring quality standards are met and best practices are followed.
4. Manage production schedules to meet crop targets and deadlines, while ensuring high-quality yields.
5. Implement and monitor health and safety standards across all farm activities.
6. Monitor soil and crop conditions, adjusting processes to optimise yields and quality.
7. Collaborate with farm owners and senior management to develop growth strategies, new crop introductions, and business expansion.
8. Conduct regular performance reviews, implement training, and maintain strong team dynamics.
9. Coordinate with suppliers, manage inventory, and ensure the maintenance of farm equipment.

The Candidate:
1. Previous experience in berry farming, horticulture, or plant propagation is highly desirable.
2. Proven leadership experience in farm management or a related field, with the ability to lead and motivate a diverse team.
3. Strong understanding of crop production processes, including pest and disease management.
4. A hands-on approach, with a strong focus on efficiency, quality, and sustainability.
5. Familiarity with agricultural machinery and equipment maintenance.
6. Full UK driving license is required.
7. Knowledge of berry crop varieties and their specific growing conditions.
8. Experience in farm expansion and implementing new crops or farming technologies.
9. Strong communication skills and the ability to build relationships with staff, suppliers, and customers.
