An exciting and innovating opportunity has arisen within the Pan-Lanarkshire Court Services. We are looking to appoint a motivated and enthusiastic individual to become part of our management team in the role of permanent full time Team Leader. This opportunity includes providing a managerial role to a team of dedicated staff who work across the three Sheriff Court’s in Lanarkshire (Hamilton, Lanark and Airdrie).
The successful applicant would be expected to provide all aspects of management support to the Pan-Lanarkshire Court social work team. This includes direct line management responsibility for a team of social workers, social work assistants, bail officers and the diversion from prosecution team.
The team provide a range of services including daily assessment reports; including electronic monitoring, bail information assessments and bail supervision assessments. Furthermore, the team undertake Justice Social Work Reports and expedited stand down reports where required. The successful applicant will also be expected to work closely with a range of partners including COPFS, SCTS and Police Scotland.
Applicants must possess a Degree in Social Work (or Social Work equivalent) and must be registered with the SSSC. This role requires PVG clearance for regulated work with children and protected adults. South Lanarkshire Council will submit a PVG application on behalf of the preferred candidate and receipt of the subsequent PVG certificate will be required prior to commencement. Applicants for the position will also require to agree to be vetted to NPV level 2 in order to utilise the VISOR home office system.
Applicants will require to have a developed knowledge of both Court systems and Justice Services and preferably will have prior managerial experience within a statutory social work setting. The post will require the post holder to undertake all relevant managerial tasks and duties for a busy social work team.
