Job Title: SEN Teaching Assistant Location: Ringwood Salary: £76.92 - £95.68 Per day (Depending on experience) Contract Type: Full-time/Permanent Start Date: Immediate About the Role: As a Special Education Needs Teaching Assistant, you will play a crucial role in supporting students with SEN. Your primary responsibility is to assist these students in overcoming barriers to learning and to help them achieve their educational and personal goals. You will work closely with teachers and other support staff to deliver tailored educational experiences that cater to the individual needs of each student. Responsibilities: Provide individual and group support to students with Special Education Needs, helping them engage with their learning and manage their emotions and behaviour. Assist teachers in delivering engaging lessons and adapting materials and strategies to meet the specific needs of SEN students. Track and report on the progress of students, identifying areas for improvement and celebrating their achievements. Implement effective behaviour management strategies, promoting positive behaviour and addressing any challenges appropriately. Offer emotional support and guidance to students, helping them to develop coping strategies and build resilience. Maintain regular communication with teachers, parents and external agencies to ensure a coordinated approach to supporting students. Requirements of Graduate SEN Teaching Assistant: Previous experience working with students with SEN is highly desirable. Relevant qualifications in education, psychology, or a related field are advantageous but not essential. A genuine passion for supporting the educational and emotional development of young learners. Strong communication and interpersonal skills. Excellent organisational skills and the ability to manage challenging situations effectively.
